Dr.-Ing. Sidra Naveed is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Coordinator at the University of Siegen, where she manages and contributes to several EU-funded projects. She holds a PhD in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen, with a specialization in Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence and Explainable Recommender Systems. She coordinated the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) GECKO project (Horizon2020), an international PhD network on AI for energy-efficient solutions. Beyond GECKO, she has been actively involved in a wide range of projects at the European, national, and regional levels, including an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership on digital competencies for citizen participation, the EFRE NRW project on human–machine collaboration in automated production, the SustainKMU project on energy optimization in SMEs, and the Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Usability, where she trained SMEs in human-centered innovation and sustainable digitalization.
Her research and project work combine AI, Human–Computer Interaction, and sustainability, with a strong commitment to ensuring that digital technologies are transparent, inclusive, and aligned with societal needs.
